History
Boonville Abstract & Cooper County Land Title has deep roots in Cooper County. Boonville Abstract Co., Inc, was opened in 1948 by Ben N. Smith and Arthur Putnam. Ben N. Smith, Jr. took over the operation until his retirement in 1996 when Paul M. Wooldridge purchased the business. In 1997, Paul’s daughter Mandy agreed to come on board to research the Katy Trail class action suit. During this period, Marge Branch who had been with the company for 50 years decided it was time to retire. Not wanting to let her father down, Mandy agreed to continue to work until Paul could find a replacement. Whether by design or accident, a replacement was never found, and Mandy purchased the business in 2008 and changed the name to Boonville Abstract & Title Company, LLC. In 2026 Boonville Abstract & Title Company, LLC and Cooper County Land Title, LLC, owned by Bruce R. Quinlan, decided to join forces and now operate under Boonville Abstract & Cooper County Land Title. This collaboration allows them to continue to provide reliable title services while expanding their resources to better serve realtors, lenders, attorneys, and property owners across Cooper County and the surrounding area.
